The documentary ‘EAMES: the architect and the painter’ tells the story of the leading designer duo of the 20th century: Charles and Ray Eames. Their experiments with bent plywood were pioneering. And the resulting furniture designs using plywood and fiberglass set the tone of post-War design in the USA. And not just their functional furniture, but also their holistic design method continues to this day to inspire designers the world over.
Filmmakers Jason Cohn and Bill Jersey illuminate not only the extraordinary couple’s professional careers but also describe their private lives, using archive materials.
