At the invitation by the BDA Darmstadt urban and spatial planner Klaus Selle, Professor at the Department for Planning Theory and Urban Planning at RWTH Aachen University, will speak about civic participation in urban development. Are the old-established concepts and terms of participation still valid today? Are calls for more participation pointing in the right direction? Plus: What does this mean at the local level? Are civic participation practices undergoing a makeover? What new developments are being observed?

These are the questions that Klaus Selle has explored in his publications. In his lecture he will speak about his experiences and research findings.
