The first part of the four-part Futures Workshop is devoted to the Osthang and its surroundings. A framework is created for the forthcoming discussions within the Futures Workshop. The Mathildenhöhe as a whole is considered in keynotes on its collections, preserving them, the cultural activities located there, and the ensemble’s position in the city as a whole from the urban design viewpoint. Summaries of designs and preliminary planning in recent years will also be presented.
In the ‘Future Laboratory Mathildenhöhe’ the Osthang’s potential will be highlighted: What should happen after the end of the Osthang Project and prior to permanent development of the site? What proposals do local citizens, local institutions and groups have for the design and use of the site? How can these be realized in organizational terms? The event will have four parts, spread across the entire duration of the Festival.
